Partial and complete dentures

There are 2 types of removable dentures: partial and complete. Partial dentures are used when adjacent teeth are too weak to support a bridge or when there are too many missing teeth. It replaces missing teeth with acrylic resin that is resting on the gums and metal clasps that hold on to remaining teeth.

Complete dentures are used when all teeth are missing. They replace all of the patient’s teeth and are held in by suction on the palate. Lower dentures are more of a challenge because of the presence of the tongue and we often use implants as attachments to help keep the dentures stable.
