Bruxism is a common condition that involves clenching and grinding of teeth at night for the most part. It can lead to premature wear of teeth, tooth fractures, sensitivity, headaches, muscle pain, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems. Treatment aims at protecting the teeth from such activity and usually a night guard is fabricated. It is custom made from an impression or a mould of the teeth and is made of rigid acrylic and protects against bruxism.
